We’re Coming Home

Over the last couple of days we have trained youth leaders and also enjoyed every body of water in Togo. We spent a few hours at a really nice hotel pool, an afternoon at the beach, and a morning on an African Boat on Lake Togo.
We are heading to the Airport in 30 minutes to begin our 24 hour journey home. We are so excited to see everyone! The plane is scheduled to arrive in CHS at 2:09pm Saturday afternoon.

Back from Djon

We made it back safely last night from the Village of Djon in the mountains of Togo. God has done so many things through the team while we were there. There are so many stories to tell. For the sake of time I will just give some bulletpoints.
- 6 villages played in soccer tournament
- 80% of the players got saved!!!
- over 150 people accepted Christ during our 3 night stay
- the Chief of Ksembe (a village next to Djon, where we have established a church) accepted Jesus!!!
- the chief told us that he wants to grow the church and reach out to other villages!!!
- We met children with different terminal illnesses that have been healed through Seacoast Medical Missions. Incredible stories of healing
- the team went door to door in the village sharing Jesus and we saw many accept Jesus.
- Ashley, Maggie H, Megan, and Rashad shared their testimony in Church on Sunday (Incredible response)
- The chief came to church for the first time!
- Hiked 3 miles to the Aklua Waterfall yesterday.
- Trained 20 youth leaders today in Lome.

These are just some highlights. God is good. We have a few more ministry opportunities ahead but we are starting to debrief our trip and relax. We are going to a pool this evening, doing sports ministry tomorrow, lake or beach thursday, going to the market thursday, and starting our journey back on Friday. We are sheduled to arrive in CHS at 2:09pm on Saturday.

Heading to Djon on Wednesday

Hello Everyone,

We are doing great here in Togo. We have been busy the last few days with construction, sports camps, English Training, and evangelism opps. Today we are getting the opportunity to hang out around the house because the road was blocked to get to our construction site. we are taking advantage of the time to play. Honestly it feels like we are little kids using our imagination to keep us entertained and we are having fun doing it.
I am so impressed with the team and how they have adjusted to missionary life. They are really taking advantage of the opportunities to share God’s love and pray for people.
Tomorrow we leave the city and head up into the mountains to the village of Djon and Kjembe. We will host a huge soccer tournament that includes 6 villages total. We will get the opportunity to share Christ with over 5-700 people during the next few days. Please pray for favor upon us.
Following our time in Djon we will head to a nice little tourist spot and visit West Africa’s largest waterfall. We will arrive back in Lome Monday Night. I will post a blog at that time.

Sunday Update

The last two days have been amazing. The team is loving Togo and our mission and we already have tons of incredible stories. Here are some highlights.
1. We began contruction on new office for the Mission Org. We made and picked up cinderblock size bricks.
2. Saw hundred people come out to a basketball turney. The Togolese beat our American team pretty bad.
3. Megan witnessed to tons of people at the game and two ladies came to Christ!
4. We performed skit and I preached at church today!
5. We took much needed nap this afternoon.

Wish I could zrite more but I am on French Keyboard in Internet Cafe with a time limit. We send our love to our families especially Dads on this special day. Love you all.

We Have Arrived

We have arrived in Lome, Togo. We had a little bit of a delay out of Washington DC so our planes were backed up a little but everything has worked out and we have arrived safely.
Over the next few days we will be doing some service projects within the city of Lome. We have some children projects, sports clinics, construction, and I will be preaching at a church in Lome on Sunday and the team will be doing some dramas and testimony.
Continue to lift us up in prayer. The team is so excited about being here on Mission for God.

FYI – We just ate the best pineapple on Earth!!!

Next Post will be either on the 22nd or 23rd before we head out to the village of Djon up in the mountains for a few days. We cherish your comments.

We are getting ready to board our first flight of our 24hr journey. Even at 4:30 in the morning we can’t hold back our excitement.

Togo Mission 2010

Thursday, June 17th, a team of High School Students from Seacoast Church will be embarking on a 16 day journey to the country of Togo located in the pan handle of West Africa. This is the second trip for Seacoast Youth to this land in which we are seeking out God to move in the hearts of the Togolese people.

Over the next two weeks we will have many opportunities to share the Gospel as we travel from village to village sharing Gifts of Hope that have been offered by the congregation of Seacoast Church. We will give food to the hungry. We will give water to the thirsty. We will give shelter to the homeless. We will give hope that is only found in Jesus Christ to the hopeless.

We would love your prayer and support from the home front as we are taking part in the Great Commission that we are called to; to go to the ends of the earth with the message of redemption. Please check back frequently during the course of our mission to receive updates of how God is using ordinary students from Mount Pleasant, SC to do extraordinary things in Togo, Africa. Your comments and prayers will be such a blessing to us while we are away from home during this time.
